TackledTackled by Sabrina Paige
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Another cute read from Sabrina Paige! For some reason, right now I am really sucked into this Sports Romance hole. I can't seem to get enough! This book was the perfect fit for my purposes. Heavy on the romance and light on the football. I think I will speak for many when I say its not really the football I am reading for, but rather the body that the football creates for the hero 'Eyebrow waggle'

This story was really cute and VERY Steamy. I loved the easy witty banter between the MC's and their chemistry was really great. The heroine Cassie was a nerdy graduate student studying sociology at the same school as the College football sensation Colton King. He pretty much follows all the stereotypes of a college football star; Manwhore to infinity and beyond, doesn't try on his school work or go to classes, parties like it's his job, etc...
I really liked Cassie in this book. She was an intelligent female lead who was noted as a 'nerd', but she was no shrinking violet! She had a backbone and she was funny as hell!

"I'm sorry" she says. "About what?" "I'm sorry that's your best feature," She says nodding pointedly downward at my cock. " How disappointing"

"Her brilliant solution to my financial plight was to be a dominatrix. She said I have the disposition for it. I'm Pretty sure that just means I'm a grumpy bitch."

description

"I see enormous cocks all the time!" Oh God. Did I just say that? It sounds like this apartment is Grand Central Station for dicks."

"You look... easygoing. Not high maintenance."
" I look NO maintenance!"

description

Cassie works for the Athletic program as a tutor and is assigned to help Colton pass his classes so he won't be benched for the upcoming season. I appreciated how the author didn't go with the whole 'he-is-an-amazing-athlete-so-doesn't-have-to-do-any-school-shit' story line. Let's give these boys SOME responsibility!
Colton is attracted to Cassie right away and immediately lets her know it with cocky self assurance (which is pretty funny given his situation during their first meeting). Cassie, obviously, thinks he is gorgeous, but beyond that, she is not interested. Colton, who is not used to women resisting him, Has NO clue how to 'woo' anyone but he knows he wants Cassie. Cassie has her many reasons as to why she won't attampt an type of relationship with Colton; He is her 'Student' and it is strictly off limits, he is an arrogant, cocky ass, He is crude, He is a super manwhore with girls throwing themselves at him, etc...
After many pages of banter and arguing and tension they finally agree to a sort of fling for the summer. The relationship develops very nicely and the rest you will have to read :)

Cannon (A Step Brother Romance, #3)Cannon by Sabrina Paige
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

"You are mine, Addy. It's a fact. But when I mark you as mine, you'll fucking know it."

description

4.5 Stepbrother Stars!! Yummy!

Another fun, quick read for all you Taboo romance lovers out there! I love this series from Sabrina Paige. This book in particular was the perfect blend of romance, steamy-ness, emotion, witty repartee, and sweetness. This installment was a bit more heart-rending then the previous books.

We have Addison, the country music sweetheart, and Hendrix, the former marine turned Addison's bodyguard. The wrinkle in their relationship being that met when their parents got married when they were 15 and 16 respectively. The relationship started out rocky with Hendrix hating Addy on site, thinking she was a spoiled rich child star. Through their time together as teens they grew closer until Hendrix realizes the depth of his feelings for Addy. (view spoiler)
This book is told in present tense and through flashbacks and as much as it deals with a forbidden romance, it also deals with Hendrix and how he is able to cope with the fall out from war.
This is number 4 in the series:
#1 - Prick
#2 - Tool
#3 - Cannon
#4 - Prince Albert

Told in Dual POV
HEA guaranteed (Just like the rest in the series)

Tool (A Step Brother Romance, #2)Tool by Sabrina Paige
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was totally prepared for a total smut-fest when I pulled this book out, and don't get me wrong I like my smut just as much as any other red-blooded GR's Romance addict! But, I wasn't expecting to like the characters so much. It was a really good/cute story mixed in with the naughty-ness :)
I am a total sucker for forbidden romances, as I am sure many can relate, with Step-Brother being one of my fav's! That being said, with substandard writing and lack of character depth, it can easily fall into the trap of total dumpster-novel.
Dumpster Fire = a book is trashy; not sexy. Characters with no real emotional connection throughout book. No real plot. AKA... A book you really think would be better as kindling for said dumpster fire.
BUT! Yay for Sabrina Paige! This book was NO Dumpster Fire!
I found myself devouring this story because I just didn't want to stop reading. I thought the character development was really great and Holy Sexual Tension Batman!
I loved the banter back and forth and the inner dialogue was hilarious!
"Maybe I am having a stroke or something. Personality change is a symptom of stroke, isn't it?Or I have a brain tumor. I make a mental note to talk to my doctor when I get back to dalas. 'Doc, I;m feeling different from my usual whorish self. I think I might be ill'. It's a perfectly legitimate concern." - Gaige
"Gaige's stupid voice interrupts my fantasy. 'What, your tongue-tied now?' 'I'm thinking of ways to dispose your body' "

There is NO Cheating, NO OW/OM Sex, a Possessive Alpha male, Feisty female, and an HEA. What's not to love!
Pick it up!

PROM KINGPROM KING by Penny Wylder
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is my first book by this author and I was drawn to it because of the blurb (and lets face it, the cover ain't to shabby either!) I was kind of in the mood for something light and quick and was going into it without any crazy expectations.
I can say that it neither disappointed nor exceeded my expectations.

I wasn't really looking for a story that was going to blow my mind with deep meaning or give me puffy face from emotional crying. Just a light and airy little romance before I get back into my Dark Romance kick again.
This book hit right on the mark.

That being said, I did have some issues with this book
PLOT
We start out with our heroine Ollie (Olivia) who is described as a nerd who is shy and quiet, the doormat brand character. Her best friend drags her to her highschool reunion, to which she really did not want to go due to a humiliating and scaring moment from the teenage years. (view spoiler) They show up at said reunion and she sees her old high school crush typical hottie/jock/out-of-my-league type Adam. Adam is a sweet guy, who despite being a jock and very popular in high school never really enjoyed the high school "fame". Turns out, he has actually had a thing for Olivia too throughout highschool.
Upon their re-connection, sparks fly and sexual shenanigans ensue! Adam, however, has a big secret that he has hidden from Ollie and one that could ruin the fragile new relationship.

Stuff I liked!
- Adam was not your typical man-whore Jock and there was not OW drama or cheating. HUGE plus! I HATE scenes with OW, just makes me want to throw the book against the nearest wall and since mine is a Kindle the aftermath would be very sad for me.

- We always expect the heroine to be strong and stand up for herself because these are qualities we like a person. However, I am kind of a fan that the author stuck with the true personality of the character, or at least the one she is described as. It drives me crazy when in the beginning of the book you have some wilting flower of a heroine and the as soon as she meets the hero she is all of a sudden some 'I am woman hear me roar' type. Just kind of throws me off.

-The pace was good. I never felt like the story was dragging or slow which is the worst!

Stuff that made me say "Hm... not so much..."
- There was not much development of their relationship to show why they even liked each other. There was only one time where it was mentioned they even spoke. So, he is this super hot Jock who has developed a crush to the point of pinning over the girl for 10 years! over a girl who he had barley ever even talked to in high school?? hmm... Their relationship from the reunion on felt way too familiar. It was said they had "known each other for years" but in reality they had only known each other existed for years, nothing more than the superficial. So the ultra familiarity just seemed a bit contrived.
- There was a bit TOO much sexy time in this book. Yes! You heard me right! HOLD THE STEAM! Through the middle of the book it was pretty much all they were doing and I would have liked to hear more about the emotional connection instead.
- (view spoiler)</["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]>

HeartbreakerHeartbreaker by Logan Chance
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

description

Logan Chance, you got me with this one, RIGHT in the feels!
I really liked this book a lot, and BOOKER ! My god, what a sexy sexy man...
description
This story was sweet, emotional, heartfelt, had a little mystery, and SEXY AS HELL! I have read a few of Mr. Chance's other Novel's and have always enjoyed her writing style. This book is no exception!

Catherine aka "Cat" is a single mom running a landscape design company in her small hometown. Booker is a man from said small hometown, but moved away to LA when he was young because of something tragic happening in his past(Ooo Mysterious!). So, the story opens up with Booker coming back to town to refurbish and sell his late parents home/his Childhood home. He is extremely bitter about being back in town and can't wait to get the place sold and get the heck out of dodge. He meets Cat at the beach behind his home and have a very rough start. Arguing for the first good part of the book. Over time in their relationship they start to open up to each other as each of their pasts start to be revealed and begin to form a really beautiful connection both to each other and between Booker and Cooper (Cat's son).
Given this books length, I was really surprised/impressed how Logan Chance was able to create such depth with the characters. You really connected with them from the very beginning and I feel like that shows the talent of her writing better than anything.
All in all, I very much enjoyed this story and am looking forward to gobbling up more of Ms. Chance's novels!
